Legacy - Adding National Drug Identification numbers to Prescriptions Labels
Some countries require by law that a national drug identification number appear on all prescription labels. For example the DIN(Drug Identification Number) is required on all labels in Canada.
Modify Drug Details for the Plan Item
1) Go to Settings & Reports >> Medical Records / Plan Items Setup >> Add Modify Plan Item
2) Search for the Drug you want to add the Drug Id to.
3) Click on "Edit Drug Details"
4) In the "ID Label" field fill in the label for you national drug id. For example in Canada it is "DIN". In the United States it is "NDC".
5) Add the unique national drug id identifier.
What does a Drug ID represent?
For example in Canada: "DIN uniquely identifies the following product characteristics: manufacturer; product name; active ingredient(s); strength(s) of active ingredient(s); pharmaceutical form; route of administration." See: http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/dhp-mps/prodpharma/activit/fs-fi/dinfs_fd-eng.php
